Across the U.S., teacher burnout and attrition are rising, yet the environments designed for educators remain largely unchanged. While schools are built for students, few are designed to support the adults responsible for learning, behavior, and safety every day.
The Teachers Lounge Movement addresses this gap by creating restorative recovery spaces for educators inside schools – a tangible intervention that supports retention, morale, and community stability.
This movement is powered by creativity, community, and the belief that design can be a force for good.
Your partnership helps us:
This is more than a makeover — it’s a message:
Teachers deserve beauty, belonging, and support.
Environmental design has a measurable impact on stress, emotional regulation, focus, and behavior. When lighting, layout, materials, and flow are intentional, spaces support the nervous system rather than strain it.
For educators, teacher lounge recovery spaces lead to:
Research across healthcare, workplace, and education settings shows recovery environments directly influence wellbeing, engagement, and performance outcomes.
The Teachers’ Lounge Movement is a public health and workforce-retention initiative powered by intentional design.

This initiative is built as a replicable national model. Each project follows a standardized framework that can be implemented across districts, cities, and states; and every transformation we complete makes the next one stronger.
We have completed three lounges across two states. The model works. The demand is growing. And the right partners will determine how far and how fast this reaches the educators who need it most.
We invite partners to help scale this work nationwide.
This is not a program. It is a national intervention.
